CAREER & FINANCE | Our Own Worst Enemy: When Women Keep Women From Leading

As a working mama, getting ahead is always on my mind. More money to pay the bills would be nice, so would a pay off for all the hard work and creativity I put in on the job everyday.

I can tell you though…that it’s been hard to get a leg up. Female mentors seem to be few and far between these days and perhaps is it because as the article suggests, women feel threatened by other women.

I’d like to think that I give others a chance or a hand if they need but I bet I can do more.

Here’s my challenge to you then for this week – see if you can find a way to help another up and coming woman in your field. Offer her your personal contact information (whatever you are comfortable with but don’t be creepy) and reach out. Don’t always wait for her to come to you.

Have you ever had a female mentor at work? Let me know. I’m curious!
