Hi Everyone!

So a friend of mine (Kendra) is a stay-at-home mom of 3 and heading out to Las Vegas for a much needed getaway…

…and no you can’t go along.

I’ve got to tell you, she sure is doing it up right and has some MAJOR plans to tear up the strip in a big night out. The only thing is that she wants to make sure she’s dressed right for the kind of night out she’ll be having and she’s asked me to throw together a look for her.

What to Wear for a Classy and Fun Night Out in Vegas

Here’s what she has planned:

Amber alert for all my fashion gal pals. I’m making an emergency 911 request for your assistance in putting together the perfect outfit for an exciting night on the town in Las Vegas. I know it will be a bit of a challenge to put me together, as I have been at home with my three children for quite some time. However, I know that all of you have great ideas for creating that special look and helping me to fit right in with the glamorous ambience of the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. My plans are for an elegant dinner followed up with some exciting gambling action, so keep that in mind when posting your ideas.

For this challenge, think creatively as I will dining at Picasso. How exciting it will be to enjoy exquisite food prepared by Chef Julian Serrano while surrounded by the priceless masterpieces of Pablo Picasso. What a brilliant idea to combine food and art. This restaurant is a meaningful tribute to the great painter as it also features regional cuisine from France and Spain where Picasso spent most of his life. My taste buds are tingling as I think of how I will pair the finest European wine with my food choices. With over 1500 selections of fine wine, I may have to allow the sommelier to choose for me. I want all heads to turn as I glide through the dining room to my reserved table by the window overlooking the Fountains of Bellagio. I hope the outfit you create for me will be so marvelous; it would have inspired Picasso himself.

My friends and I have been looking forward to this unique Las Vegas vacation for weeks. We had help building our itinerary from other experienced travelers on Gogobot. The Las Vegas hotels certainly have its own unique style, so keep that in mind when you think of wardrobe ideas for me.   Dressing for a specific occasion, be it fine dining or one of the many shows Vegas offers, always makes the night more fun. I am excited to see how you make me fit in and stand out at the luxurious Bellagio Hotel and Casino.

Las Vegas

Now… if you’ve been to Vegas, you know that there is a air of glamour, especially at hotels like the Bellagio. However, there is also a distinct sexy undercurrent and you just wouldn’t feel in the naughty spirit of the town unless you had at least a hint of fierceness and flare in your outfit.

Of course, you kind of have to steer clear of white (unless you are the marrying kind).

So… here is what I would put Kendra in if it was up to me:

Las Vegas Night Out Outfit

1.Yigal Azrouel Cross Front Pieces Dress

2. John Hardy “Classic Chain” Rectangular Ring with Black Sapphires

3. Paul Andrew Patent Leather and Feather Sandals

4. David Yurman Chain Bracelet with Pearls

As a mom myself, with multiple kids, there’s nothing better than finally turning a few heads when you’re out on the town. That’s what I wanted for Kendra in this outfit.

How can you NOT feel fabulous in those feathered sandals??!!

I think this outfit balances the need for a little sassiness (with the cut outs, bold colour and cross body detailing) with the much needed air of classiness to make sure she feels like she could impress anywhere on the Bellagio Hotel & Casino grounds.

What do you think?

If it was you – would you dial your party wear up for your night out?

Or would you tone it down and prefer to blend in with the scene?

Let me know in the comments!

Erin

Wow, I love it. I’m going to San Francisco next week, if I knew you before I would have asked for your help with my outfits.

That’s so awesome Elizabeth! I used to live there (back in the 90s of course) and there so many fun things to do. Any big nights out planned? The Starlight Room is so fun. ~ Erin
